Statements Future of dance in Berlin

Statement 

Intervening, bringing about, inducing, providing, making understandable, communicating, showing, effecting, causing, helping, transporting, transmitting, passing on and communicating, these are all synonyms for the term convey. All these terms could also describe the process of the Round Table Dance Berlin. The final report is a first step, and now the will of politicians is called for. In order to strengthen the power and impact of dance in society and politics and to establish dance as a truly independent art form within the performing arts, much more is needed in addition to this fnal report. So that dance can continue to play an important role in social and artistic discourses, a place, an open space is needed, which is not hierarchically-structured and which is accessible to society and all those involved in the Berlin field of dance (dance scene). We, city inhabitants, are perhaps committed human beings, who stay informed and make use of our right to free expression. But how easy is it still to meet or talk to the "others", and on which different levels does an exchange take place? The unwieldy word “Vermittlungszentrum / communicating dance center“ includes all the synonyms mentioned above and also the possibility to open up corresponding free space. The center has the potential to accelerate and expand the introduction of dance into urban society. And in the same way, the dance field (dance scene) can interact and experience a sustainable further development by the urban society.
